xp start problem
well i thought it was starting in safe mode, but it doesnt say safe mode on the desktop. my wall paper and icons are still there, but it wont let me do anything as if its in safe mode. if i try to start in normal mode it does the same thing.
the task bar is changed too like if its in safe mode. but its supposed to be starting in normal mode. anyone know how i can get it to startup regularly again. because no matter what i start it up as it wont let me access anything just like safe mode |

You probably are in normal mode, but your video drivers aren't installed, so you only have a standard VGA display. Reinstall your video drivers.

Is this a brand new build or an existing computer?
Can you run a manual scan with your anti-virus? If not, do you have another computer with up to date virus definitions? You can install the hard drive from the problem PC into a working computer and do a manual scan on just the added hard drive. Cricket
