can the recyclers folder be deleted?

i am fixing my buddy's computer right now, and pretty much every file in his recyclers folder is infected with one type of virus or another, and i just wanted to know if this was safe to delete

thanks

Does he have an anti-virus program? That should delete the files for him. I am pretty sure you could just delete the infected files within the 'Recycle Bin.' I also believe that you cannot delete your 'Recycle Bin' folder. That is part of Windows OS and should be unremovable. Why you would want to delete that beats me...
