You can reboot into safe mode, and from the adminstrator account delete the rest of the accounts and make your new ones.

XP Home or Pro?

If Pro, I recommend you log in as administrator, go into administrative tools, computer management, local users and groups, users - and DISABLE (not delete) the accounts in question.

If Home, I dunno - this is one place where I have no use for the crippled account management features of Home.

I am curious as to why you say disable...not delete???

I recently created a user account for security & vunerability reason...but have decided to get rid of it because several things did not work corectly in the user account...so I use the Admin account for everything as I always did before.

It's an old habit from the NT days, where if you delete an account, you will NEVER be able to make a new account with the same name without wiping and reinstalling.

Hi From Fort Worth, time 4:25 Friday AM

.Thanks for your replys.I have Home XP. The reason I want to get rid of all them is to see that when I restart XP it will only have one account and hopefully it will have ALL my files and folders. I had to do a re-install a week ago and none of my files and folders (two years worth) will not show up on any user name.I did a re-install with NO format. I have done this before and everything worked out OK. But now all is lost . It is not erased because I can go to MY Computer > look at drive G: and see that 5 gigs of 10 gigs is used meaning all my files and folders are there but it want show. During the re-install XP asked me ' Who Will Be Using The Computer? " so I put in the 6 names that would. Maybe I should have not put ANYTHING at that time and wait till XP has fully re-installed , and then do all the 6 accounts. --- It is acting like I did a format and I am sure I didn't. The last time I installed XP it rebooted to the Desk Top that I have had for 3 years with ALL my Icons showing and programs showing. Now it is that hill and sky (de-fault).All programs want show in any account. No ISP , nothing. The only Icon showing on desk top is Recycle Bin. I don't know if I can un-install the install I just did.------ I may just do another re-install and then see if all files , folders, and programs show up when I reboot it up this time . I had over 70 programs listed.---- O-- I am on Windows ME on drive C: as I type this to you. I haven't taken any action on working on that re-install. I just have used ME all this week till I decide what to do. It will be late Friday till I can work on it. My Father uses the computer for his stocks and the day time is his.-----------------------Don

More Delays ,
On Thursday , my Aunt and Uncle blew in from Arizona. Guess where they are staying ? In the office-computer room that has a bed. I am at the kitchen table as I type. It is dark and everyone is asleep. When I am through with the computer , I have to brake it down and put it in my bedroom stored on the floor. When the next night comes, I repeat the same thing again. I have so much to do that I will use my Dad's Windows ME on drive C:. They leave next week to go back and I can resume using the office-computer room. I then can work on my problem.---O,---Well , you do what you have to do.,---thanks --Don

PS: O !----by the way-- they brought their BIG dog with them to. It is asleep with them in that room.---------one good thing---being on the Kitchen table , I can get to the Fridge.--------I can eat a lot of goodies !
