Installing 2000

I just installed a fresh copy of 2000 and my computer hangs on 100% of being formatted. Any ideas of why this is happening. It does take awhile to reach that point, am I not being patient enough? I waited almost an hour last night after it reached 100% and nothing, so I shut it down. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is this a new hard drive?

If this is a new retail hard drive, use the diagnostic utility included on the CD to test that hard drive with. There's a chance it has bad clusters on it already.

No, no new hard drive. Was having problems before so I decided to reformatted it.

Go to the manufacturers web site and download the diagnostic utility and test the hard drive with it. It might be going bad.
