Windows - excel question

hi all:

All of a sudden I try to open a excel file on windows explorer and it opens excel but not the file. I know this is not a big issue, but I drives me crazy, not knowing how to solve this.

And I have no idea how to search the forum for this problem.

What version of Office and what OS are you using? You will most likely want to make sure all MS Office service packs and hot fixes are being used. A repair installation of Office may help as well.

MSKB article

Here is a MSKB article describing the problem in Excel 97. The fix may work here as well.
