Hi all,
Just got a new PC (emachine) running WinXP home. I'm trying to transfer data (favorites, address book, files, folders, ect.)from my old PC (emachine) running Win98. I have a backup disc but new backup software won't open it. I tried putting separate files on a CDRW disk from the old PC but when I try to copy to the new one I get a message "file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". I scanned all the files on the CD with AVG & Norton and they both found no problems. When I try to Import Favorites I get a message "you do not have permission to save in this directory. See administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in "My Documents"? How do I transfer my data?

Remove the hard drive from the old machine, slave it into the new machine, copy/paste.
