msconfig problem

when i try to get into the system configuration utility, by launching 'msconfig' from RUN, it appears for a second, then goes away. help!

Does task manager do the same thing? If so...

sorry for the double post, but i ran the trendmicro house call as you suggested, and it found 10 items. however, they were unremovable. what should i do now?

still scanning

there was a batch file named "x" in my root directory, created the same day (yesterday) i started having problems with instant messinger, can/should i delete it?

You can right click on it select edit to se what it does. But it probably shouldn't be there...
