HD not bootable
Because my old WD 80GB hard drive has errors, I got a new WD drive of the same size to use. I used Acronis TrueImage 6.0 to create a drive image and then transfered this image to the new drive. I then disconnected the old drive and removed the slave jumper from the new one. When the computer was started, the drive did not boot. It got to a Windows XP screen and stopped. How can I make this drive bootable?

As a beginning try to do a repair install.
Boot from the XP cd and select New Installation not Recovery Console. When you are given a second option to repair or do a fresh install click repair. |

The problem was that I had partitioned the drive before using TrueImage. I deleted the partition and then restored the image file. It seems to work fine now.
