Generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem

"Generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close"

I have read different places on the net that there are a number of causes for this, yet I havent been able to pin it down because it does not come up every time I log onto the PC. My other PC is doing the same thing.

I have Norton SystemWorks 2003 and latest updates - no virus found
Ran latest version of Avert Stinger - no virus
Scan almost every day with Ad-Aware SE.

It just started yesterday. Could it be the new Windows Updates that are out? I also was notified and downloaded the latest HP drivers for my HP Deskjet 3322 and Scanjet 3500c.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get rid of this stupid error message once and for all? All help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

Question HP driver

Thanks for the reply. I do not get this error message:

App name App version Module name Module version Offset
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Svchost.exe 5.1.2600.0 Hpgtpusd.dll 1.1.0.56 00008d0d

The error message I do get has all zeros under each word like App name, app version, module version, offset, with module name unknown.

sounds a lot like the msblast virus. i would try a different virus scan like housecall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com). if you google, there are a lot of fixes for msblast, and i will post one in a sec, i just got to look. but until i find one, i would start a virus scan

this tool removes malicious software, says it works on blaster
