Force Windows 2000 to uninstall???
Hello there,
This has been a very bad day - I just installed a trial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 on my computer and it has practically ruined it. It takes about 10-15 minutes to log in; same again to do anything; and running almost any program is impractical. I can't uninstall it as I get a message telling me that it is still running and to go to the applications shortcut menu and select exit and press "IE" (this IE has an inverted v on each letter - what is this?). I have also tried to end the specific processes with task manager but it won't let me - operation not allowed. Basically I am trying to find a way to force Windows to remove this program. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Have you tried uninstalling it from "safemode"? the chances are it has not installed correctly and the install application is still running while you are trying to uninstall. If you boot into safemode no applications associated with Kapersky should be running so you should be able to uninstall it.

Restart your machine and keep tapping the F8 key, this should take you to a black screen with white text where you can use the up and down arrows to select safemode. Windows will start with the most basic amount of services and drivers so your screen will look a little strange but it's ok, just go to programs and uninstall Kapersky, rebbot the machine in the normal way. Hopefully this will be the end of the problem for you.
