Can someone please tell me if I can run Excel 95 (Excel 7) under Windows XP?

I don't see why not. If it gives you grief, try running it in compatibility mode.

I guess from your reply you haven't actually tried it! I've been told compatibility mode sometimes doesn't work. It would be nice if I could be certain before I grasp the nettle and buy a new PC, which of course will have XP installed.

I just tried to install Excel 5 to see if I encounter any problems. It worked just fine, and so does Word 97, which I regularly use.

Judging from this, I don't believe you will have any problems running Excel 7 under XP. Sure, I've never tried Excel 7, but since Excel 5 works, I don't think you'll run into problems with Excel 7.
