LAN Problems
I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. I recently upgraded Windows XP Home to XP Pro. I am having problems with my remote pc's gaining access to my server(the one with xp pro). They can access one another but not the server. I have checked everything I can think of to make sure printer and folder sharing is enabled. I can view and do anything I need to do from my server to the remote pc's but they cannot get access to the network printer or folders on the server. I have zonelabs firewall installed and as far as I know it is configured correctly. I use a proxy for internet access and the remote pc have no problem whatsoever getting on the internet. If you can help or need any other information, please let me know. Thanks

Turn off Zone Alarm and try it.

I did that and it didn't help. I can see the server on the remote pc with zonealarm running or not, but not able to access it due to permissions....Not sure how to set it in Windows XP Pro. No problem when running Windows XP Home.

Either enable the guest account or add users. This is done in computer management, local users and groups, users. The users have to exactly correspond with the logins on the remote machines (username and password).
