In-active Windows

Hi,

I am running XP Pro SP2 and am having the following problem:

If i have excel, word, IE in fact anything open and am using the window, every 20 or so seconds the window becomes inactive. It has happened 10 times typing this paragraph, make that 12!!!!!!!!!.

I found a process "amStats" starts showing activity everytime this happens and in a fit of rage i deleted it and all its registry entries, cleared the system restore and re-booted but the process (which cripples my system when it runs) has retuned.

I am not sure if this process is the problem or not.

Please help me as i can't take this much longer.

Spybot and Adaware don't find anything.

Cheers

Description
amStats is a set of ASP scripts that report current web server information such as: current sessions, sessions for the day, average sessions, and much more. amStats' unique feature is the ability to transmit this information to cell phones, pagers, and PDAs that are WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) compatible.

Requirements
amStats is designed to run on Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) and Personal Web Server (PWS). Through the use of the global.asa file, amStats keeps track of server statistics and displays it with active server pages (ASP). To access amStats via hand held device, simply point the device's browser to the proper page (amstatswml.asp) on your server and view the results. You do not need to load any server DLLs, COM objects, or NT services. Everything is handled through your global.asa file. amStats does not use session variables (which can be wasteful) and uses very little system resources.

Whilst the above does explain the asStats proccess it doesn't explain as to why all active windows become inactive, until clicked on again, every 20 seconds.

Any suggestions greatly accepted........
