windows explorer loads at start up.
I'm not sure how to fix this, when xp loads up windows explorer pops up on the desktop. I'm pretty sure the only thing that I haven't done is go into msconfig. This is my daughters computer and I'm not sure if she has messed with any setting or not. I can't seem to find anything.

Try this,
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article05-016 You can also open the win.ini file in C:\WINDOWS\. Then, if the line starting with Load= or Run= says C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe then delete it. I know that worked back in the 98 days, but back it up I have never done it with XP. If the StartUp folder in the Start Menu has explorer.exe in it, delete that. Right click>open on the start button or navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu. Checking msconfig can't hurt either, give it a try. |
