Font Folder opens on startup in Win XP

OK here's the problem. I started up my comp tonight and my desktop pic had disappeared and my Objectdock icons had reverted to an old set that I'd just recently updated. I figured out the desktop and icon prob(I had recently moved some files to another partition on my HD) but I can't get the font folder to stop opening on startup. I searched the forum and google, but to no avail.

I've also tried checking

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
To see if there is an entry that's empty, or one that points to the font folder. All to no avail.

Then I checked msconfig to see if there was anything there that pointed to the font folder and again nothing.

This only happens on startup (not if I set the comp to hibernate) and when I check Ctrl + Alt + Delete under Applications is the only time the font folder is listed.

I'm hoping someone here will have a suggestion cause this is starting to drive me nuts.

Thx in advance.

Anyone? Would posting a HijackThis log be helpful? It seems very similar to the System32 folder opening on bootup but I just can't find what's triggering it.

Have you scanned with Adaware and Spybot to see what shows up? That would be my first suggestion. Then do an online scan at Trendmicro.com's Housecall and see if it finds any Trojans/virii that you AV doesn't detect. If the problem persists follow the instructions here before posting a Hijack This log.

Sorry I guess I should've mentioned what malware/AV pgms I've run. I've run Spybot S&D, Adaware, M$ Antispyware, AVG Free, McAfee and Housecall. I've also run TuneUp Utilities to tidy up the registry and cleared out the browser cache and deleted all Temp Internet files (had no idea if that would work but it couldn't hurt I figured). I also tried to follow the instructions to stop the System32 folder from opening (cause it's exactly the same problem just with the font folder) but that didn't help either.

I've attached a HJT log as an attachment but let me know if you'd prefer me to copy it right into the body of the reply instead.

TIA
