Deleting programs at start-up

Hi everyone

I am running windows 2000. Does anyone know how to stop or remove the programs starting up when windows first start? (the small icons at bottom right-hand corner of screen).

TIA

Use a site like this http://www.sysinfo.org/ to find out what you need and then you can download Hijack this! http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html and delete startup entries using that, it also makes backups of what you delete so if you need something back or delete something by accident you can restore it.

You can also copy msconfig.exe from a XP box and use it.

I have program called Your Uninstaller 2004 and one of his functions is "starup manager" where I can decide what programs should run on awindows startup it's perfect because it gives you explanation of each program that is runing and gives you tip do you need this program or not.
Or if you know wich programs you do not need you can stop them manualy every time you start comp run task menager and in processes tab end all processes you do not need.
