XP SP2 slipstreaming on a recovery CD with hotfixes pre-installed

Hi,
In work I'm trying to make an SP2 version of a recovery/re-install CD for some of our PC's. This CD comes with SP1a slipstreamed and six or so hotfixes in the 'svcpack' directory.

I have copied this disk to a directory & tried this so as to burn it to a new recovery CD with SP2 installed, naturally

I get an error during the SP2 slipstream process that it can't install with hotfixes currently installed. I went to the MS Knowledge Base.

There is a workaround here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=887412

However in the 'Workaround' section does this mean I should copy the i386 directory to a different location & then apply SP2 & copy it back, overwriting the previous i386?

I couldn't find a link on this page to tell me exactly what was meant here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
