SP2 issue on dell laptop, stopps install at wmiprvsd.dll

My sister is having some difficulty upgrading her computer to sp2, Im not exactly sure the problem.

When it gets to the setup wizard it says something along the lines of not copying the file from c:windows/softwaredistribution/ etc. etc. etc

just checking the folder it is saying it needs to copy from exists, but i cant figure out why it wont continue.

she says shes tried many times to re-download the updates etc. but it still doens't work

curious if anyone knows how to help

Before upgrading to SP2, you need to do thorough virus and spyware scans, delete all temp files, and do a general cleanup. Then to install SP2, you should do it off the free MS CD or from the full (270mb) download, not the active install.
