Unhappy Blue error screen

I am using win xp after I moved and re setup my system I have encountered a problem. Everytime I start the computer up and log on the computer a blue screen pops upan states

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

At the bottom after some unusable information, at least to me, I see this.

Stop: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x804f72774,0x00000000)

Beginning of physical memory
Dumping physical memory to discfollowed by a numeric counting , beginning at 1 and restarting at various times)

I have reinstalled windows and nothing changes. What should I do next?

Thanks for any input,

Mike

Reseat your ram modules, that's a bad ram stop error.

Thanks GLC for responding,

However that didn't work. Any other ideas? The memory is only about 2 years old, could it be bad?

I went into selective start up and I think I isolated "Telephony" under the services tab as the trigger. Can anyone explain why?

Thanks again,
Mike

Reseat your modem. Moving a computer always has the risk of jarring something loose.

similar badness

I've got a similar problem going on right now in my XP computer.

A while back, my mobo caught fire (literally), so I swapped it out for a DFI NFII Lanparty. After finally getting that to work, I installed some standard software. One of the things I installed was Ghost Recon Desert Seige. I am not sure if that is why, but my computer started working reeeeeeeeaaaaaallllllllyyyyy slow after that. We're talking 5 minute load times, at least a 20 second wait before clicking the start tab brings up the options, etc, etc. Oddly, programs load slow, but run normally. Anyways, my computer had never been on the web before, so I was downloading all the updates off of Microsoft's site. All the downloads... downloaded, and they were starting to install when they suddenly failed in rapid succession. I then got a blue screen with the following text in the upper left hand corner:
STOP: c000007b UNKNOWN HARD ERROR
UNKNOWN HARD ERROR
BEGINNING DUMP OF PHYSICAL MEMORY
DUMPING PHYSICAL MEMORY TO DISK: #
This sounds very similar to the problem this threads original poster is experiencing. I made sure my components were all secure in their mounts, as per your suggestions, GLC.

Oddly, my computer will still boot up, and still seems to function (albeit slower than molasses in a spring blizzard). I haven't tried to download those updates since this happened, as I would like to get my PC running correctly... funny, I tried to download those updates in an attempt to get my computer to run correctly.

Do you know of any sites that offer a list of fail codes?
