Does such a program exist?

I am getting a new laptop specifically to use as a programming tool. I want to install all of my development programs (I have many), and have it neat and orderly.

The type of software I am in need of is similar to DeepFreeze, in that it will completely remove any user files created or installed programs after every restart (including temporary internet files, documents, games..etc). It would, of course, allow me to select certain programs and special files that I would want to keep from being deleted after a restart. I will be saving my files on a flash drive or external hard drive. I would certainly love to buy a copy of DeepFreeze, but unfortuneately, it is only offered in a miniumum of 10 lisences (I want one).

If anyone has a spare, unused lisence for DeepFreeze, I will purchase it from you!

Thanks,
Dave

Food for thought:

Microsoft Virtual PC about $150.00-> You install it and then install another whole operating system into the Virtual PC. You have the option to save things as you go or unload all changes.

It takes a pretty stout pc to run it but is great for testing software etc...It would require a seperate XP license if XP was the second OS..

Thanks for the suggestions, but those options seem way too advanced for my needs. Something like DeepFreeze only takes 2 Megabytes of space and is easy to mannage, that is what I am looking for..

All I need is something to restore my computer back to the settings I choose after every reboot. I.e. getting rid of any files that I carelessly chose to save to the hard disk, completely cleaning out all temporary files, installed applications since the last reboot, and deleteling all registry entries.

There is certainly a market for this kind of software, unless it is pattented by DeepFreeze..

Have you looked for it (Deep Freeze) on E-Bay?
