No icons on desktop
I had to put in a new graphics card and it work great UNTIL I reset the bios to the optimal setting. It had an on board video of which I had disabled in the bios . Did it get switched back after I set it to optimal? I can't see anything on the screen when I try to go to the bios. I can boot up but I only have the task bar showing . I can click on the start button and the menu will come up but nothing shows when I click on it, like the control panel . It will not show. Thanks

Did you delete the original vid drivers - install the new ones and then shutdown to add the card?

Yes it was for the on-board.
Get out your manual and find the cmos jumper and/or cmos battery and follow the instructions for returning the bios to factory defaults. Pull the video card. That will undo what you did. When that's done, hook the monitor to the on-board video to check. Repeat whatever steps you took to install the video card and this time let that optimal setting alone. edit: Ezy is right about you checking drivers.

Yes I did uninsall and install the correct drivers. I have a blue screen with the taskbar showing. I can click on the start button and everything show up like it should but when I click on any program it won't show on the monitor. It does show on the taskbar like it pull it up. I can click to go on the internet and it will show in the taskbar as connected but it just won't show the picture.

When you applayed BIOS to optimal settings you enabled on-board video again but you should be able to see what exactly is going on when you open display properties.
On display properties settings tab you should choose primary display "default monitor on radeon 7000" and " use tis device as primary display" and extend my Windows desktop on to this monitor". If you don't know how goes like this: Swich off your monitor unpluged from graphic card plug in on-board and when you change settings as I explained unplug from onboard and plug it in on a graphic card again and confirm settings on display properties. I know this sounds complicated but it's easy and it works I didit on my old comp it has similar settings and components like yours it's WIN XP H, 30 gigHDD, 256 mgRAM, and SAphire Radeon 7000 and of course on board video Trident somethingbla bla ... LOL
