New build,Xp problem

I recently build my own computer, and installed the great and powerful Windows Xp on it(j.k).At first i was having trouble with master and slave settings but eventually got that problem solved, now my problem is that windows starts up ok,the windows loading screen comes up as normal, but after this nothing happens,i just get a blank black screen.

I am able to log into safe mode but thats it!

Any ideas..

Exclamation new build

Yes I have basically the same problem. After a few seconds though I get an error message stating "frequency out of sync, will reboot in 10 seconds"

I have searched micrsoft, ATI, and a few other sites. Most of them are telling me that it is a video card problem. the video card is switch back and forth from low resolution to high res to fast and is locking XP up.

So try switching cards out with a lower model # or different card manufacture all together
