Kernel APC........

Running xp pro on a dell dimension 8300 have had two occasions recently when shutting down the system have got the following message

Kernel APC pending during exit

The message also goes on to talk about possibly needing to reinstall/deinstall hardware or software but nothing specific.

Any ideas as to what may be causing the problem and how to fix would be appreciated !

Worth saying that the pc and software work fine otherwise and the machine starts up again ok afterwards.

Have installed a new second maxtor hdd a few weeks ago and that has worked fine for some time before these messages started so don't think they are related.

Have installed new av software (agv) and adaware due to persistent trojan horse issues (byteverify version particularly) but don't know if thats related.

Any feedback welcome.
