Win XP Pro password?

I need some help here?

I have a customer that brought me his pc from home that has XP Pro on it...I set up the pc for him a while back and just did the regular installation....Well he wanted extra security so he had a guy from his work help him accomplish this....All has been fine until now...

He decided one night while probably indulging in a little too much to drink to try and change the password.... next day after the wear-off he didn't much remember what he did (I'd say too much to drink) and now cannot remember the password he changed it too....So now I have it back...I can usually get right thru this proccess but it's different to me this time....

As the pc loads to the windows XP screen and goes to the welcome screen a box pops up and directs you to press "Ctrl+alt+delete" when you do another window pops up and in that one you click "ok" and then it goes to the password pop-up screen....???

I assume this is a bussiness password deal....nothing I am used to...

How do I get passed this? would some one PM me with the instructions???

It does the same in safe mode...I am sure if I got to the command promt I could fix this but can't get that far???? Terry

if you set up his machine you would know the administrator password that you typed in when installing xp. just ctrl-alt-del and type in "administrator" for username and use that password. once logged on you can change the password to his account.

it does the same in safe mode....it's like it's not a log on to windows password but a corporate password thing?

Sorry, refer to the forum rules, we can't help with password cracking here. Wipe the drive and reinstall Windows.
