Angry Fire Email Problems

I have deleted email accounts from my exchange 2000 box and when I try to put in the same email address that I deleted, It tells me that email account already exists. I have changed the tombstone interval and garbage collection. Even waited 2 days to see if replication would take care of the problem. But for some reason active directory just wont let those email address go. Any feedback on how to get rid of those email address in active directory so I can add them again. Even when I delete them they are gone to where I can't get to them, so I can't use the old ones, so I want the new ones but can't. Please give me some kindof feedback. Thanks

Did you remove the email address or the user and mailbox? If the email address is the default email address, then you won't be able to remove it. You could add another email address, make it the default and then remove the old one. That should work. You could also remove the user if they aren't there.

email problems

I deleted the user and the mailbox. Tried to re-enter user and email address and it tells me email address is already present. Even waited 2 days to see if replication would take care of it, it didn't. Please help. I need to get that old email address out and put in new one which is the same as the old, it has to be because I need to auto-forward the email.

In control panel under "mail" make sure the account is not present.
