media player

Guys , when i play a music file , windows keeps askin me what program to play it with. Now i choose windows media player, and set it to use this extension for all these types of files, when i play the same file it keeps askin me the same question !!! any ideas????????

Have you tried setting the file extension usage through Windows Media Player? Open WMP goto TOOLS > Options > Filetypes and select all the filetypes you would like to associate with WMP.

Also you may need to do the reverse for any other "media players" you have on your computer. Some of these media players are quite obtrusive and may keep taking over the extensions by force. Try their options and prevent them from associating themselves with the extensions.

you can also try deleting the file type by going into my computer, tools, folder options, file types. the next time you run the file type it should ask you to select a program to run the program and you can select that program to always be used for that file type.

You can also change any programs used to open any file type, if you know how to navigate your hard drive to the .exe files
