win 2K upgrade
Hi all
If I do an upgrade from win98 to 2K can I just install over the top of 98 or will I have to format and go on from there? Also can I use the CD key from 98 or does 2K require a new one? Dick

You MUST have a Win2k key inorder to install it.

I am assuming that your Windows 2000 is a legitimate version, right? If it is a legal version, you should have the CD Key on the sleeve/jewel case.

thanks for the replies
a friend has asked me to upgrade his pc and that is why i wanted to know about this. he has the cd and I told him he will need the cd key also but he did not know if he had it , that is why I asked. if he doesn`t have it he will be out of luck... oh well , maybe he will just do a fresh install of his win98, that would work also thanks Dick |
