Question Systemboard Error

Just got a second-hand IBM Think Pad 600E Trying to load XP on it after getting more than half way into the installing windows phase I get message that there something wrong with systemboard the error message was
DEV 001
ERR 91
FRU 3610

Technical Information:
STOP: 0x000000E0(0x00000001,0x80000003,0x00008080,0x80D85000)

Says I should run diagnostic disk that came with laptop, which I don't have

So, can anyone understand this error message or can tell me where/if I can download this diagnostic disk referred to.

New here, hope I'm in the right place if not please direct me.

Thanks in Advance

An E0 stop error is related to ACPI bios problems.

You need to load up IBM's support site and enter the exact model Thinkpad - there are about 30 different 600E's - and download various utilities and drivers. There ARE issues with trying to install XP on a 600E, and IBM has supplemental files you need. You also may need a bios update file.

Angry Fire Unable to start Machine

As of now the machine goes no further than the point of installing windows then goes again and again the the error message. I am unable to get on line with it. The type is 2645-3AU. I have seen XP Pro loaded on this type machine with little or no problem.

Just can't get past this Systemboard problem

IBM TP Errors (9:59pm EST Fri Apr 09 2004)
Most errors on the IBM Thinkpads can have a number of causes for one particular error code.

I think IBM did this on purpose so that you would have to take it to one of their service centers and no oone else.

ERROR 174 - Could mean 1, 2 or 3. Try in order of number.

1. Check device configuration.(Could be related to the backup battery needing repalcement) Systems Clock needs resetting is one indication of this.

2. Hard disk drive assembly (HDD coulsd be seted incorrectly)

3. System board (May need replacing (not recommended for non tech-heads)

dev 001
err 91
fru 3610

DEV 001 indicated the Systemsbooard
ERROR 91 indicates ?????????????
FRU 3610 - This is one of two devices that could be the cause of the problem
36 indicates Battery Pack
10 indicates Systemboard
If you are satified that your battery is OK then possibly a systemsboard problem and the only solution is replacement

DEV002 is Memory
ERR21 ????????????????????
FRU0020 00 = 0 20 = Memory

IBM TPs have 32MB onboard memory
You can add more in the memory bay underneath

If you have added memory check the following memory count chart

If your memory count doesn't add up it could mean a chip relacement needed.

Boom Check,check,and double check...

Thanks to all involved,

I checked battery, cmos battery, checked hard drive, and I checked memory all checks out. Seems to narrow it down to the systemboard a thought I didn't care to think about. Seems a bit much to throw more money into something already second-hand. The computer referred me to a diagnostic disk which I was able to download from the IBM site but the computer won't see or recognize it, It keeps going back to the XP Pro Install I started and was unable to finish. Has anyone hear of know where I might attain a Super miracle or universal Boot Disk.

Open to any other suggestions and "Thanks Again".

splat an Option

The Ultimate Boot CD is as close as u can get to a miracle, You can download the .iso free from:

http://www.ultimatebootcd.com

In addition to a boot password reset module, there is just about everything you may need to diagnose the issue with your laptop.
