CAP LOCK Problem

New Acer laptop, Winxp, loaded Office 2000.
Strange thing happening. Sometimes when I put on the cap lock it works fine. Then when I take it off the light goes off and it works fine. Other times I go to turn it off, the light goes off, but it still does caps! The only way I've found to correct this is to delete the line I'm working on, go back to the end of the previous line, hit enter and it will fix itself until the next time... which is generally not long after that! Any body?

Usually the only way to troubleshoot something like that is to:
- Try editing in another program. If you are using Word, try Notepad. This will help identify if it is hardware or software. If the program exists cross-app, then it is probably hardware, which means that there is a sticky key or your keyboard is going out. If the problem only happens in MS Word, then it is likely something in there that is causing problems. I have seen behavior like that when Dvorak layout is chosen.
