Can someone tell me what Narrator.exe does? I looked on the web, but could find very little. and what I did find said it ran on XP home ed. I am running Pro, and it is running.
Do I need this?

I believe Narrator is the text reading portion of XP (Pro and Home). If you open a plain text file or e-mail, it will literally read it to you out loud.

Edit (addition): take a look here for Microsoft's little explination on it.

thank you

well, thank you.
That is certainly what it sounds like. Problem is, I have no voice software on this PC. So I am guessing that I may shut it off.
I run Win Tasks and a couple other app's just to see what is up and running in the background etc...
Well, I tried a new one(The Ultimate Troubleshooter) and it came up with this Narrator. First I have seen of it.
Thank you for the info and link,
B
