I think I have screwed up. My computer is a single user P4 2.6Ghz with XP Home installed. After reading about the perils of file sharing I UNINSTALLED file and printer sharing.
I have several programs installed that share files with each other. I fear that by uninstalling File and Printer sharing I have made a mess that will prevent some of my programs from working properly. I followed the instructions contained in the following link to uninstall file and printer sharing. http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/F...winxphome.html Is my concern warranted, and if so how do I re-install file and printer sharing to my XP Home computer? Thanks, G.F.K. |

No File and Printer sharing is used for network sharing not internal Windows sharing.
And since you are not on network everything will be fine!!! And if you would like to install it again go to : start > control panel > network connctions >right click on local area network > properties > install and then choose file and printer sharing for MS networks!!! Basicly it is same procedure like uninstall you just have to use install instead of uninstall. (look at yours link)!!!
