Windows Install Won't Run

Hey guys i'd like some help here if you wouldn't mind. I got my first build going on here and all components are recognized in the BIOS and everything seems to be working just fine, but when I boot the computer with the Windows XP Pro installation disk in my Dvd drive I just get 'Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device.' Do I need install drivers on my dvd drive first? Or Do I have to use a boot disk? Or Is it something much simpler? Here's my system:

-Intel D865PERLL Mobo
-Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 3.0Ghz
-512 MB Sigle Channel Ram
-Aopen DUW1608/12x Dvd
-Sata HD in Master
-Maxtor HD in master
-Radeon A9200Se 64MB
-Windows XP Pro

Any help would be appreciated.

If your first boot device is set in the bios to the CD rom, you should be able to boot from the XP CD. Is this a fully legal XP disk or a burned copy? Burned copies often don't boot.

I can boot and install WinXP from my DVD drive so thats not it, Second I slipstreemed SP2 into WinXP and made my own boot disk in Nero but I have the original and it boots and installs from that disk fine.

Is your DVD drive setup as your first boot device?
