Windows Media Center Edition--domain logon

I got an HP with Media Center on it. I have this machine in a school lab and intended to have it log on to our server--domain.

During the initial setup, it asked me if I wanted to connect to a domain. I put in the name of the domain, then put in my domain ID and password. I never got the message saying 'Welcome to the --- Domain', and when I got to the desktop, it never asked for my logon.

I went to My Computer | Properties | Computer Name to set up the connection to the domain there. But--the 'Network ID' option is grayed out. The bottom choice, which usually says 'To rename this computer or join a domain' just says 'To rename this computer'...

How can I get this to log on to our domain?

You cannot join your computer to a domain in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;887212

MORE INFORMATION
In earlier versions of Media Center, a scenario where you join your computer to a domain is supported. If you upgrade to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 from an earlier version of Media Center that is joined to a domain, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 will retain the domain status and credentials. If you remove the computer from the domain to enable Fast User Switching for use with a Media Center Extender, the computer will not be able to rejoin the domain.
