Annoying blip sound when I open and close programs
Hello. I just started getting this annoying blip sound when I open and close programs. It doesn't do it on my other computer runing WinXP. I shut off all sounds in the sounds control panel. I don't know if it has anything with AOL; probably does, as it has it endless annoyances but AOL is not my server. Is there somewhere else to turn off this sound that I am missing? thank you

Well. I do have SP2 but don't know how to shut off sounds that maybe from security center. I did not see any. This blip sound sure is annoying. Who wants to hear a blip everytime you do something like open and close programs, as well as minimizing. Not sure why this started to just do this. Didn't seem to do it before.

I guess I was not thinking very well. But I suppose you don't think it would be there. I discovered that if I go into My Computer, properties, advanced and performance settings; if you disable, "animate windows when minimzing and maximizing. For some reason, I don't remember that setting being on before. It just recently started bothering me. I find I prefer to have all computer sounds disabled anymore.
