HELP! Windows 2000 freezes during startup
My desktop running windows 2000 seems to have mysteriously decided that it does not want to start correctly. When I boot the system I get past the logon and the wallpaper and windows start bar generally load but the system freezes as it loads the desktop icons and system tray icons. Mouse and keyboard support at that point are gone.
Any suggestions? I'm guessing the problem is some application that runs automatically at startup is making windows hang. The system does boot into safemode fine. How can I change what programs run automatically at startup? |

You need to do virus and spyware scans in safe mode.
