OS Choice Menu on Startup? Huh?

Hi folks, I reinstalled windows xp and now on startup I get a black screen that says "choose which OS to start" and gives me two options -- except they are both windows XP?

What is going on and how do I fix this?

It's as if I have two os's installed, both xp. when I reinstalled I chose the "new install" option and repartitioned the entire drive, which usually wipes everything out. Curious.

thanks!

Did you delete all partitions before creating new ones?

Edit the boot.ini file and take off the invalid choice...OR an easier method is to run msconfig, click the boot.ini tab, then select "check all boot paths". It will then remove the offending boot path.
