Win98 USB help
Hi
Im running Win98 I recently got ADSL and iplugged my modem in and nolights no nothing and in device manager i have exclamationmarks over Root Hubs in USB tab. Does this mean that the drivers for the USB isnt working?? When i right click properties and try to update drivers i get asked to put in the win98 disc which i do but then i get an error and a blue screen and comp crashes. Previous to this i was in themiddle of installing drivers for them i think and comp crashed and now as i said the Modem lights arent on. Can someone tellme how to Uninstall the USB drivers or half drivers that are on there? i tried clicking them then remove but that didnt help. restarted reinstalled them and still the same so must be something within windows. if anyone knows or can help please let me know. cheers |

Do you have 98 original or second edition? Your modem may not be compatible with original, this is very common. You will be MUCH better off if your ISP can provide you with an Ethernet-capable modem, and it's easy and cheap installing an Ethernet card.
