Installing Windows XP Home Edition with Upgrade?

I have been trying to do a fresh Windows XP home install on my other computer. I had the 6 disk bootdisk that I downloaded from Microsoft but one of diskettes got runied and the only computer working in my house that is working has Windows XP Professonial on it and it will not allow me to copy the files to the diskettes on this computer for Home XP because its XP Professional, so I am stuck and have to computers that I need to get XP home on. The reason I have to use the 6 diskette startup is the only Windows XP Home Addition I have is and upgrade. However, I do have an orginal copy of windows 98, will this help at all. Can anyone give me some advice on how to do this. I also have the bootdisk for windows XP.

Thanks so much, as I am stuck on this problem. I had recovery cd for the computer in question but it had a scatch on it and won't work, so that is why I am stuck.

Put the upgrade cd and when it asks swap the 98 disk in to verify it, but if i read right you need a key with several licenses to use on 2 different computers.

The EULA from MS does not allow multiple installations of the same copy of XP. You need a separate copy for each computer. And you don't need XP boot disks either. Just set the Boot Priority in the bios to the CD drive first and boot from a legal XP CD. That's the most information we can provide here. Anything else regarding the installation on multiple computers or using illegal copies are in violation of Forum Rules. Hope this info is of some help, Jenny, because I have to close this to prevent further discussion.
