Can`t log on.

O.K., here is the scenario, A friend of mine was given a pc from a family member of his that works at a school. I believe it was a logit give. When he tries to boot up the windows 2000 pro comes up with the progress bar below it. Then it goes to a welcome to windows box saying press Ctrl-Alt-Del to begin, which takes you to the log on to widows box. According to the person that gave him the PC you don`t need a user name or password to log on, but he can`t get around this. I have the pc at my home to see if anybody here can help. Also any of the usernames or passwords given to him to try won`t work. Is there a way to get around this log on screen to be able to use this PC? Thanks for any help.

try typing in administrator in the user field and leave the password field blank.
If that don't work more than likely you are going to have to reinstall windows 2000 from disk.
