Question on Windows
Ok, I have a Dell Dimension right now and of course it came with windows. Now I was wondering if that version of windows was specifically made for dell, because it came with it? Is it possible, if I build a new system, just put it on the new system, and take it off the dell, call microsoft and varify it, and put linux on the dell?

The Dell Recovery/Windows CD you got with your computer (if you got one at all) works only on a Dell. You can't actually move the copy of Windows on the Dell, because you don't have a real install CD.

You could probably set up a dual boot, though. I did that on an NT machine once (NT and Linux).

No, Hedda - the issue is the Dell Windows CD is keyed to only install on a machine with a Dell bios. It will not install on anything else.
