Help please, Windows shut down to prevent damage to computer....
I'll try to keep this short.
This is the message I get on a blue screen about 4 minutes after my comp boots up. It's followed by check that any new hardware or software is properly installed. It goes on to say Disable bios memory options such as cashing or shadowing, and then some stuff about begining dump of physical memory. When I try to reboot, it does the same things. The only new programs I've installed in the past couple of months were Ad-aware SE (which found about 1200 spyware programs), and Microsoft spyware beta1. I am able to boot up in safe mode, which I did, and was able to remove Ad-aware, but safe mode will not let me remove the microsoft spyware program. Any help is greatly appreciated. The computer is a Dell demention 2350 if that helps. |

That sounds more like a hardware issue and the spyware is just coincidental,
have you attempted a system restore?, also go to device manager and look to see if you have any yellow or red exclamation marks next to any of your hardware.

I have tried a system restore which is no help. I'll check my device manager and see if there is any problems in there. Also I'll try to get more information from that blue screen when I'm at that computer. Thanks for the replies...

What anti virus program are you using?
If you can boot into safemode, click start, run, and type in msconfig, hit ok. Click on services, check the box "Hide all Microsoft services",a new window will appear, click on disable all,and restart the computer, see if it boots normally,if it does Msconfig screen will appear,go back to msconfig and enable the video programs, leaving anti- virus, etc. disabled. Restart the computer and see if it boots normally, more than likely one of the programs running is causing the problem(firewall, antivirus, etc.) |

Ok, I've got it narrowed down to something with my internet connection. If I boot the computer with the ethernet cable not attached, everything works fine. As soon as I plug in the cable The blue screen comes up. I tried using the usb, and had the same issue. I have comcast broadbanc with their RCA modem. I'm pretty sure it's not the modem because everything works fine with my laptop. The error reads
Stop: 0x00000AC, 0xFE949000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804DA43C I checked the device manager and everything seems fine there. Thanks for any replies. |

Test your ram with Memtest86+, if it tests good, do a windows repair reinstall. You either have bad ram or the hardware abstraction layer is corrupted in Windows.

The HAL_MEMORY_ALLOCATION bug check has a value of 0x000000AC. This indicates that the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) was unable to obtain sufficient memory.
Cause The HAL was unable to obtain non-paged memory pool for a system critical requirement. These critical memory allocations are made early in system initialization, and this bug check is not expected. It probably indicates some other critical error such as pool corruption or massive consumption. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...3db6a2.xml.asp |

Any idea what I need to do to fix this? I don't see anything about fixing the problem on that link.
