Can't sign into hotmail
I cannot sign into hotmail...it keeps sign that I need to enable cookies. I have set all security levels to low and it will not sign me in. All my other website account attempts are working - no problem signing in, just hotmail.
Any suggestions? |

Recently had a friend with a similar problem. Started windows update and downloaded any and all critical updates for Internet explorer and problem solved. I think he now is running IE 6.0, SP2. Just a thought

I've got all the latest updates from Microsoft.....it is still doing it....I can get into hotmail, but into a round -a -bout way going through MSN sites. I have even got hotmail.com and passport.net and msn.com listed as sites to always allow.
Still working on it...... |

Check with your IP
Your IP may have something like Outlook Express Mailguard enabled. In the last few days, mine has locked port 25 to keep malicious stuff from entering my PC~it also requires you to reset any "third-party" (such as hotmail) accounts to make them have the same name and IP address you use for your Outllook Express.
You may need an assist by phone from your IP, that is, if you have one. |

Might sound like a crazy question but is your password too long ? I had a sign in problem with msn messenger and a website site after their changes
(i donno what). Everything was back to normal after changing my password. I know sounds crazy but it is an option. |

Thanks for the input - I have used the same hotmail account for years, so the length of the password must be ok. What I did do is recofigured my security settings to default on Trusted sites. Then I added the URL of hotmail and passport.net. Then I cleared the SSL states and auto complete history's. Then I cleared the forms and all passwords. I also deleted and resaved hotmail on my favorites and it seems to be working now.
Maybe the corruption is with Hotmail.....that may be why changing your password helped... I am not using Outlook Express, but will play around there for awhile to see what is up? Thanks again |
