HELP. Problem with Outlook Express files and Windows Search
Hi everyone,
I have noticed a set of wierd problems that all have seemed to occur together. I recently updated my Windows to include all the critical updates (done on May 1, 2005). Yesterday things were fine. But today, I now have problems with: (1) opening Outlook Express attachments. I unchecked the option that does not allow attachments, but each time I try to open an attachment, I get the following message: Windows Security Warning, Windows found a file that is potentially harmful. To help protect your computer, Windows blocked access to this file. It then leads me to the Help and Support Center, where I get script debugging errors and 'XOX' text (2) when I open up Windows Search Companion, all I get is a blank screen without options of where to search on my computer The wierd thing is that I think the computer was okay yesterday, but all of a sudden today things went bad. I searched for viruses with up to date version of McAfee. I also ran Spybot and Adaware to look for spyware. ???? Is this a problem with a Windows update ???? ???? Is this a virus/trojan/spyware ???? ???? Any other insights ???? ???? Any solutions ???? PLEASE HELP ... |
