question about recycle bin

I've noticed that my files don't go to the recycle bin anymore, they're completely deleted. Is it a setting or something?

How much space is allocated? Default is 10%, it's possible it's at 0%.

Silly but possible...

Your Shift key isn't stuck down is it? Shift + Del = Permanent Delete.
