Running processes

I just am really sick of not being able to get rid of certain processes forever. So if anyone knows how to do this please tell me. I have a decent site for looking up what each is for and what their doing but any recomendations would be good too. Right now my mission in life is to figure these running processes out.

Here is a good site for looking up startups and running processes:
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
