Win 98 and XP disk space
OK, I successfully installed Win. XP in my system, I was able to set up a dual boot so that when the computer starts up, i could chose whether I want to run Win 98 or XP. But the only problem is, Win XP erased all my info off my Win 98 System, so I'd need to run Win 98 and literly install all the programs I'd need, and do the exact same for the Win XP. My question is how I can permanately delete the Win 98 OS and just boot for XP. And also, i was following a tech's advice on the MS•Dos promt in 98, and he told me to type in "Fdisk", and told me to delete a parition and enter in a new partition that don't use up all the disk space – And I think I don't have all the diskspace I need for the Win XP. I orinally had 4.00MB of space on the Win 98 OS, but I think I must've some how divided the space for each OS, (which I have now on both Win 98 and XP – 1.99GB) can anyone tell me how I can delete out the Win OS permenately, and how I can recover the Win 98 disk space and transfer it to my WinXP computer?

It was the FDISK think that actually deleted your stuff but from what U describe I think you have 2 partitions now, one with xp and one with 98 on them, so if all you want to do is keep XP and wipe out 98 just boot into XP, right click myComputer, then manage, then go to disk management and just reformat the partition with win98 on it, but I'm not sure how you straighten out the boot menu so it will not stop and ask you to choose which OS??

If I read things right, you have a 4GB hard drive? That's nowhere near enough space to run XP and applications. Please list your basic machine specifications.

To remove the 98 option from boot options go to start -> run type msconfig in that app will be able to change the boot.ini file and take out the option that asks you for booting to 98, it also lets you set the default OS, or how long you wait till it selects something without you typing anything
