Can't Install XP
Trying to install a new Maxtor SATA. Got BIOS set to read CD drive as first. Used Maxtor Cd to partition and format drive. When insert XP Cd, it says "NTLDR missing". No other drives (hd) are connected as I disconnected those. When searching this error on the Net it says to use the recovery Cd - shucks, I am trying to install it.

Why did you use the Maxtor CD? You should let XP partition and format the drive.
Either your CD isn't bootable or your CD drive is shot - or the Maxtor software is screwing something up. |
