Question Same Program Different Desktops

Hi,
In XP when you install the same program in different desktops does it create separate registry entries? Does it cause any problems installing the same program in different desktops? Can you store the data in different directories?
TIA

By different desktops do you mean different Users? If the program is one that integrates with the registry, there is no need to do multiple installations. They will show up in the Start Menu for each user. Programs that don't integrate with the registry, like CPU-Z, require multiple installations or a short cut to the orgininal installation because they won't be in the Start Menu.

It all depends on the sophistication of the program and its installer. Some programs are just binaries with no installer, so there are no registry entries to worry about. Others allow you to choose whether to install the program for one user or for all users. What program are you talking about?

Thanks for the response guys, it's a little known financial program that does have an installer, when you use it you cannot change the parameters you set. I want to run it separately so I can use different parameters on each program. From what you guys say here I guess I'll have to use it on another PC. When I installed it twice on the same desktop and same user it got corrupted. Yes Panama Red I did mean installing it under different users, same user failed.
