File sharing on 2 PCs.

I have two computers, one running XP pro and the other XP home. I am giving my wife the older one which has home on it and have about 15 or so gigs of music files on there I would like to have on my pro computer. I know that you can create a home network for file sharing over the net. What I would like to do is directly connect the computers via ethernet cable and transfer the designs over.

Does anyone know where I can get a guide/tutorial/walkthrough on how to do this?

Thanks!

To connect two computers directly, you need a cross-over cable and file sharing instructions.
