Unhappy Keeps restarting over and over

Windows keeps restarting over and over. Gets to the Windows loading screen then goes back to "no signal" and to a screen saying "sorry for the inconvenience, may have something to do with and update, blah, blah, blah". I can start in safe mode using network services. Have tried with the XP troubleshooter, but haven't been able to figure out all they are saying either. Any ideas? I use Panda and AVG and SpywareBlaster. Help!!! Thanks!

Have you tried a system restore in safemode?
Have you run your virus scans in safemode?

Exclamation Exactly what message says.

This is what is happening and the error message displayed:

Windows screen appears with the rolling bar at the bottom as normal, then it goes to "no signal" again and begins to restart again, however this times it goes to a black dos screen with full paragraphs saying basically:
"Windows did not start successfully. A hardware or software change may have caused this.
If cpmputer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly or was auto shutdown to protect files and folders, choose last know configuration and revert to most recent settings that worked.
If previous startup was interrupted dut to power failure or power/reset button was pressed or unsure what caused it, chose restart normally.
Safe Mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt
Last know good configuration
Start Normally"

That is literally what the screen says. The "start normally" is highlighted and after 20secs it attempts to start normally unless I choose otherwise. I have tried last know config but no still does it. I ran my virus/spyware in safe mode and still does it.
The only new thing I loaded lately was Openoffice.org 1.1.4, which is free, but that was at least a week ago and it has been fine.
My friend, however, does play and Icewind Dale game from Black Isle and it has been freezing up alot on him.
Wanted to ask here first before I got too involved in some troubleshooting which may really confuse me.
Really hope you can help.

Can you give us some information on the hardware of your machine because with a "no signal" message it could well be video card or driver problems, what sort of video/screen have you got in safe mode?

Windows restarting

Windows XP Home Edition 2000 Sp2, Amd Athlon XP 2000+ 1.67Ghz, 193 Mb Ram, Fujitsu MPE3136A, WDCWD800JB-OOFMAO, AOPEN COM5232/AAH,
I am trying to find out more info by going to my System Info in Accessories but when I hit "System Info" the info won't show up, just has outline of the window and then says "not responding". How else can I find the info you want?

for optimum performance, a minimum of 512MB of RAM is advised, while 256MB is the bare minimum for win xp to run well i think.

the reason why your system info doesnt show up and why your friend's game freezes could be due to fault or insufficient ram.

to prevent auto-boot(assuming u can access the computer, since u say u can get in with safe mode), go to control panel, click systems, advanced, starup and recovery, and disable automatically reboot. hopefully u can see the error message on why it reboot or what u were exactly doing when it rebooted.

maybe it could be related to drivers, because safe mode starts up with only the basic drivers loaded. try rjfvillarosa's suggestion and provide us on your video card details

As I stated in my last post: I am trying to find out more info by going to my System Info in Accessories but when I hit "System Info" the info won't show up, just has outline of the window and then says "not responding". How else can I find the info you want? Where else can I go to find out what my video drivers are?

Is this a store bought branded machine or a custom build?

Do you have an XP boot floppy? Have you tired to use your windows cd to boot? Put the windows cd in and when it says Press any key to boot from CD.... don't press anything. I had to do that for a few days while I had to figure out that my boot loader got corupted somehow and needed to be rewritten.

I have researched your motherboard and I can't find any information in English, can you tell me if it is onboard video or are you using a video card?
What peripherals do you have plugged into your machine besides the keyboard, mouse and monitor?
Can you actually get a viewable/readable screen in safemode?
